We all had a great time from start to finish, so sorry no complaints !
The accommodation was great, loads of space for everyone. Everyone enjoyed it and are asking for a re-union sometime in the future so you may here from us then.
Thanks again, Illona & the rest of the girls (& the two boys!!)

Interview with Geoff Roy - Managing Director of GJR Events Abroad Limited

When did you move to Spain ?
I moved to Spain in July 1999, but now live in Brighton in the UK.

Where are you from originally ?
Marlow, Bucks, but studied 4 years in Nottingham and worked over 6 years in Preston for BAe, so don’t feel my roots are that fixed.

Where did you live in Barcelona ?
Sant Andreu – quiet area on the outskirts, so come into the centre when I need some action.

What did you like about living in Barcelona ?
Lifestyle basically – “work to live” is definitely the motto of people here, and just love going out at 11pm after a chilled evening at home. With no “last orders” until the early hours, there’s no hurry, so you tend to chill out more and enjoy yourself.

What did you like doing when not Henorita-ing ?
Seeing friends, exploring more of Spain, finding new cool bars and restaurants in Barcelona, chilling in the sun with a good book, that sort of thing.

Favourite place to visit in Barcelona ?
Love Park Guell for the Gaudi stuff, and the views over Barcelona and the sea. Also, love walking through the Gothic Quarter at sunset on way to the pub, and seeing the hollow Gothic Cathedral spires lit up.

Favourite bar in Barcelona ?
My “local” is the Blarney Stone for chatting to friends and having a pint, but love Miramelindo in El Born for the best Mojito cocktail in Barca – just ask them to put a bit less sugar in though !

Favourite restaurant in Barcelona ?
Can Culleretes – second oldest restaurant in Barcelona, and cracking Catalan cuisine at reasonable prices. Always jammed with locals, so you know it must be good.

What Henorita activity do you enjoy guiding most ?
White water rafting, as it’s a complete buzz for me, and getting out of Barcelona and going to the beautiful Pyrenees is a definite perk to the job.

The best fancy dress you’ve seen a stag wear ?
Full diving suit, including flippers and mask/snorkel. Full credit to the stag – he wore it all night ! Have you ever tried dancing in flippers ?

If you had a stag weekend in Barcelona, what would you do ?
Get mates to fly in Thursday night then head straight off to Pyrenees for white water rafting and canyoning. Get back to Barcelona for Friday, big night out followed by gokarting on the Saturday. Nice meal Saturday evening then go to La Paloma nightclub. Chill on the beach Sunday, then footy game at Nou Camp stadium on the Sunday evening.

Most amusing story about a Henorita / Senor Stag group in Barcelona ?
Most amusing clean story is the stag with a list of chores he had to do, all to be witnessed by a member of the stag group. Kissing a woman in her twenties, then thirties, then forties, and seeing how old he would go was pretty cool. However “catch a cab for 25 metres” probably takes the biscuit !

Any advice for making the most of your hen weekend in Barcelona ?
I see too many “crash and burns” with girls still used to the 11pm last orders rush, when you can party here until sunrise and beyond. Have a siesta, and don’t meet up until 9pm for meal then going out is a good rule. Also, look after your hen. Getting her so legless she goes back to the hotel vomiting at 11pm kind of misses the point of a hen do. “Manage” her drinking, and you can embarrass her ALL night !
